YMCA Camp Sequoia Lake
This one week leadership program is designed to not only enhance campers’ skills in our program areas, but also to teach them how to facilitate and lead activities at the archery range, waterfront, and challenge course. SITs will enjoy all of the traditional activities that campers love, but they will also take an active role in facilitating evening program and campfire activities. SITs develop strong teamwork skills and build lasting memories while learning how to make the camp experience safe and fun!
This transformative two-week program involves the exploration of campers’ leadership and communication styles. Team-building activities and opportunities for individual and team leadership are central to this fun and engaging program. LITs will enjoy all of the traditional activities that campers love, and they will also learn how to provide positive facilitation for younger campers through leading activities and developing evening programs. They will take a day hike to Grant’s Grove and also enjoy an amazing two-night backpack into Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park. LITs will learn to anticipate their needs and be prepared to be excellent leaders while generating memories that will last a lifetime!
Young people who have interest in working with children and/or being a camp counselor will love this amazing two-week program. CITs learn about child development, positive communication, mentorship, and risk management. CITs will enjoy all of the traditional activities that campers love, and they will also take an active role in facilitating evening program and campfire activities. CIT’s will enjoy a transformative overnight backpack into Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park. CITs build strong collaborative and mentorship skills while coming together as team at beautiful Sequoia Lake.
